Man-of-the-match Rufus Astle fired a hat-trick as HUCKNALL SPORTS UNDER-10S RED celebrated a thrilling local-derby victory in the Young Elizabethan League.

Dominating possession and unleashing some dangerous passing moves, Sports routed ROLLS-ROYCE LEISURE UNDER-10S YELLOW 7-1 to make it four wins on the trot.

Mason Lowbridge opened the scoring with a nice strike into the bottom corner and he struck again before the interval, along with Astle, Sam Watson and Willian ‘Spike’ Bird, who scored a fine solo goal. After hitting a post, Rolls pulled one back through Dylan Hutchinson, only for Astle to pop up with two more to complete his treble.

Supersub Jake McDonald leapt off the bench with devastating effect for HUCKNALL HARRIER UNDER-13S in the Young Elizabethan League.

Harrier trailed high-riding Holy Spirit Celtic 2-1 in the Saturday Fourth Division. But then McDonald inspired a remarkable revival, scoring four goals to set up a 5-2 victory.

Dylan Eley-Kemp bagged Harrier’s other goal, while Mitchell Goddard picked up the man-of-the-match award.

GOALS from Levar Gayle, Dylan Kubu and Lewis Rigley-Phoenix extended the 100% record of HUCKNALL SPORTS UNDER-14S WHITE to five magtches in the Sunday First Division in the Young Elizabethan League. Sports beat Gotham Rangers 3-0 to stay second in the table.
