For Hucknall Town and Linby Colliery Welfare are set to collide head-on in a Church Lane clash on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29 (kick-off 3 pm). The return match has been earmarked for Easter Monday at Watnall Road on April 17 (kick-off 3 pm).

After the disbandment of Bulwell and the wholesale switch of Hucknall Rolls Leisure to Eastwood Community, Town and Linby are the only Dispatch district sides in the Central Midlands League’s South Division for the 2016/17 season.

Only 15 teams are contesting the division, which makes an early start on Saturday, August 6. Town, who finished third last term, 12 points behind champions Selston, kick off seven days later with a home fixture against Holbrook St Michael’s. They are at home again the following Saturday, against South Normanton, while their crunch games against Selston are scheduled for October 15 and December 17.

Linby finished 11th last term, 27 points behind Town, and at the end of the campaign, they lost manager Dave Marlow, who moved on to Arnold Town, along with several of the club’s players. However, they are confident of a new, successful era under new boss Lewis Saxby and kick off with a home match on August 6 against Keyworth United, followed by a trip to Swanwick Pentrich Road on Tuesday, August 9. They are lined up for four more games before the Town derby, including a trip to tackle Eastwood Community on Saturday, August 20.
