The game was switched at the last minute due to a waterlogged Coronation Park pitch, but it made little different to the inspired hosts.

With a minute not yet on the clock the lady Pies found the back of the net when Bingham ran the ball forward and slipped it inside for striker Lauren Yeomans to pop over the advancing keeper.

From the restart, County almost doubled their lead when Anna Horton’s shot hit the post, but only two minutes later it was 2-0 as Natasha Watson ran from the halfway line and crossed for Walters to hit first time into the bottom corner.

In the eighth minute, Horton made it 3-0 when she smashed the ball into the far top corner with her left foot.

It was a full ten minutes before number four arrived as Bingham’s cross was converted by Watson for her first goal for the club.

West Bridgford put up a battle and worked their socks off but County’s quality of passing and movement was difficult to contain.

Just before the break, the Magpies were awarded a free-kick which Jasmin Bear floated into the box, over the keeper and into the corner to add a fifth goal.

Early in the second period Watson made way for Nicola Tomkinson and on the hour mark keeper Laura Allcock, Bear and Bingham combined to tee up Walters, who stabbed past the advancing keeper for 6-0.

Five minutes later, Horton turned her marker and played the ball to the feet of Bear. She ran 30 yards and played a square ball into Walters, whose first-time strike sealed her hat-trick.

This was not only a good result but an excellent team performance from the Magpies side, displaying passing football at its best.

The team look forward to an away trip to Retford this weekend.
