A four-goal blitz in the first half by Ryan Butler proved just enough to stretch the 100% record of title-chasing LINBY RANGERS UNDER-15S in the Saturday Fourth Division of the Notts Youth League.

Home side Sherwood Gold fought back bravely after the interval. But Linby held on for a 4-3 success that makes it nine wins out of nine this term. As well as Butler, fine performances came from Matthew Blackwell and Tyreece Ely.

JACK Bradley netted five as rampant HUCKNALL WARRIORS UNDER-13S RED continued their excellent start to the new spring season in the Young Elizabethan League.

Warriors are the early leaders of the Saturday Third Division after a 13-0 mauling of Radcliffe Olympic Reserves, which was triggered by a Bradley hat-trick in the opening 16 minutes.

Man-of-the-match Bradley Kernaghan opened the floodgates, controlling the ball on his chest before volleying home in the fifth minute. It was then a free-for-all as Radcliffe collapsed under relentless Warriors pressure.

By the break, it was 7-0 as Curtis Rigley scored two and Bradley headed in from Camryn Walker’s corner. And more goals followed in the second period, bagged by Jude Preece, George Blatherwick, Bradley, Kian Williams and Glen McDonald, plus an own goal.

FRESH from an 8-0 cup win the previous week, HUCKNALL SPORTS UNDER-10S RED were too hot to handle again when defeating Dunkirk Colts Blue in the Saturday First Division of the Young Elizabethan League.

Passing the ball around neatly, Sports took the lead through Bradley Mee before a lovely move ended with man-of-the-match Mason Lowbridge scoring the goal of the game. Dunkirk hit back to level with an own goal and a fine strike after a goalline block by Sam Watson. But Mee restored the lead and then goals from Ben Stanley (after a cross by William ‘Spike’ Bird) and Mason Ward sealed the points.
