Central Midlands Football League round-up: Hucknall Town’s perfect record ended by Belper United

Tomas Poole’s two goals gave the Millers a two goal lead at half-time, before Eastwood fought back with two of their own in the first three minutes of the second half through Dave Worger and Lee Bull.

Chris Sharman’s 85th minute penalty looked as if it might be the clincher for the visitors, but two minutes from time Elliott Pitt’s firm shot was too hot for the keeper allowing Eastwood to keep their undefeated record.

Belper United’s winner was even later as they toppled Hucknall Town 2-1 at Christchurch Meadow.

Ben Stockley struck in the 11th minute to put Belper ahead. The lead lasted until four minutes from the end when Niall Hamilton levelled.

It was six minutes into added time when Joe Conkleton scored the winner for the home side.

Sherwood Colliery are level on points with Belper and Eastwood after a 3-1 home win over Linby Colliery.

Lucan Barker’s early goal was cancelled out by Matt Murphy on the half hour, but Dale Gilliatt restored the lead a couple of minutes later.

Julian Topliss added a third for Sherwood after Linby’s keeper was sent off.

Pinxton travelled to Mickleover RBL for the second Saturday running and were again among the goals as they raced to a 7-2 victory.

Jake Vernon, Tom Ellis and Lee Farnsworth gave Pinxton a healthy lead, but the home side rallied with Jamie Sleigh and Sam Tozer putting the Legion back in the game.

It was not to be however, as Vernon completed his hat-trick. Ellis got his second and Luke Walker added one to complete a comfortable win.

Matlock Town Reserves’ bright start to the season has faded in the last couple of weeks, as they were beaten 6-0 at Selston.

Ben Moore, Joe Riley and an Aaron Brady penalty put the home side three up at the break.

Sean Gregory’s two and one from Wayne Cooke ensured Selston avenged their opening day defeat at Matlock.

Swanwick Pentrich road also ran in six at home to Collingham, Guy Taylor’s two being added to by Ian Milsom, Dean Owen, Guy Wilding and Shane Buckerfield. Southwell City gained their first point of the season as they drew 2-2 with Keyworth United. Danny Garrett and Will Wheat got the goals which lifted Southwell off the foot of the table.

The points were also shared between Hucknall Rolls Leisure and Blidworth Welfare, Jack Allen scored for Rolls and Tim Gregory for Blidworth.

Appleby Frodingham stay top of the Black Dragon Badges North division table despite a 4-0 home defeat against Glapwell.

The damage was done in the first eight minutes as Daniel Russell, Tom Norris and Josh Parfitt stunned the home side with an early three goal burst.

Josh Clayton added a fourth in the last minute to lift Glapwell up to third place.

Phoenix led Retford 4-2 with just four minutes remaining, but were pegged back by two late Will Tomlinson goals as Retford fought back to claim a share of the points.

Bentley Colliery climbed into the top half of the table following a 2-1 defeat of Dronfield Town reserves.

It was the same scoreline at Ollerton Town where the hosts narrowly beat Dinnington Town, who could perhaps consider themselves a little unfortunate not to have opened their account for the season.

A Craig Stanton penalty and a goal from Kyle Ludlow gave Ollerton an early advantage, before the visitors lost their keeper through injury. Replacement Cliff Jackson saved another Ollerton penalty, before Josh Shepherd converted one for Dinnington in the second half.

Brodsworth Welfare topped up their goals for column, as Billy Lumsden struck five of their seven goals at Welbeck Welfare.

Brad Heaps and Dominic Senior were Broddy’s other scorers.

Heanor Town made it five from five in the Reserve Division as they knocked Graham Street Prims off the top of the table with a resounding 6-1 win.

Scott Graham with two, Josh Burrow, Scott Graham and Kyle Daley, plus an own goal preserved the 100 per cent record,

Hucknall Town were 2-1 winners at Belper United, with Macauley Spencer and Ethan Barnes scoring for Hucknall and Joe Dale netting for Belper.

Mickleover RBL won by the same score at Teversal, the scorers were Deon Dube and Jack Coulson for the Legion and Joshua Radford for Tevie.

Radford, with a Martin Doyle goal, drew 1-1 with Sherwood Colliery for whom Mick Taylor equalised, while Pinxton came out on top 2-0 at Blidworth Welfare.

Bilsthorpe’s first venture in the Notts Senior Cup was an unhappy one as they went down 8-0 to Northern Counties East side Teversal.
