CML round-up: Bilsthorpe gun down rivals in Valentine’s Day massacre

Mark Carter gave Bilsthorpe a first half lead which Stef Hewitt cancelled out on the stroke of half-time.

But the visitors ran away with the game in the second half, Gav King with two, Jammy Meehan and Liam Black all finding the net.

Newark Town got the better of a depleted Thoresby Colliery, winning 1-0 thanks to a 35th minute penalty from Jordan Thomas.

The result means that Newark move into third place on goal difference, with Thoresby now fourth.

Sherwood Colliery picked up their first win of 2015 with a 3-2 win at Phoenix who let slip a 2-1 lead. Scorers for Sherwood were Fenn Radford, Nick Langford and Adam Sipson, with Rob Gorman and James Cregan replying for the home side

It was business as usual at Welbeck Welfare as Kinsley went back home with a 6-1 win. Jack Cumberworth starred for Kinsley with a hat-trick, the other goals coming from Craig Conway, Connor Rollinson and Andrew Davis.

Welbeck’s consolation was scored by Robbie Savage.

Clay Cross Town are back on top after a single goal on 27 minutes from Barry Alberry gave them a slender victory over Appleby Frodingham.

Harworth Colliery’s brief spell as leaders ended after another game which was decided by one goal. This was scored by Askern’s Jason Kearsley and was enough to give the South Yorkshire side all three points.

Comeback of the day was at Easington United, where the home side recovered from 4-1 down to stun Dinnington Town, the final score 7-4 in their favour.

Dinnington were two up in six minutes, Tom Eccleston responsible for both.

Brad Parker put the visitors three up before Chris Frost pulled one back, Eccleston completing his hat-trick a minute later and Mark Hutchinson making the interval score 4-2.

The second half, however, was one way traffic, the Eastenders scoring five times with Frost and Hutchinson both completing hat tricks and Anthony Barnett also on target.

Daniel Russell gave Glapwell a 39th minute lead at Bentley Colliery, the Derbyshire side making sure of the points with further strikes from veteran Neil Grayson on 74 minutes and Ashley Grayson five minutes from time.

Thorne Colliery couldn’t build on last week’s win over Westella VIP, they went down 3-2 at home to Brodsworth Welfare, who completed the double over their hosts.

Darren Fell scored both Thorne goals, Brodsworth taking the points thanks to Luke Flanagan, Corey Taylor and Shane Carver.

Holbrook St Michaels haven’t won a Black Dragon Badges South Division point at home since early April, and this unenviable record was extended by Blidworth Welfare, who inflicted a 5-0 defeat on their hosts.

Max Curzon and Gaz Atkins set the tone with early goals, Holbrook’s cause not helped by having a player dismissed in the first half.

Sam Dockwray added a third, Blake Owen and Craig Buchanan rounding off the scoring towards the end of the game.

Southwell City’s last success at home came back in August, and they too tasted defeat, Mickleover RBL recording a 2-0 win with goals from Sam Blount and Ben Stockley.

Mickleover Royals extended their lead at the top to six points after a 4-1 defeat of Real United at the Inspire Stadium.

Davy Hamson and Ashley Foster put the Derby side two up at the break, but Real rallied and pulled one back through Tyrone Burton.

Royals sealed the win with goals in the dying minutes from James Morris and Joshua Gregory. Second placed Pinxton shared the points at Hucknall Rolls, Luke Walker equalising after Rolls had taken the lead through Jack Smith.

It was also a point apiece at Clifton, where the All Whites fought out a 2-2 draw with Belper United.

Tony Murray and Ben Clarke got the Clifton goals, Ash Dhindsa and Sam Vickers claiming a point for the visitors.

Hucknall Town completed their second 1-0 win of the week, a Cayne Maxwell goal enough to send Swanwick Pentrich Road home pointless.

Down the road at Linby Colliery, an 18th minute Ruban Mitchell penalty proved decisive against visitors Eastwood Community.
