It may have been a slight case of championship hangover in the Black Dragon Badges South Division as Mickleover Royals, who wrapped up the title on Thursday with a point against Blidworth, slipped up at home to Hucknall Town.

The Notts side came away with a 2-1 win, Niall Thompson putting them in front at half-time, Ben Waplington getting the second, with Nash Wilson on target for the Royals.

Pinxton clinched runners-up spot with a convincing 5-1 defeat of Clifton All Whites.

Jake Vernon’s two, Pete Stubley and Jimmy Adcock gave the home side a comfortable first half lead, Josh Madin adding the fifth before Wes Spencer scored a consolation for the All Whites. Belper United’s challenge for second place evaporated as two goals in the first seven minutes gave Linby Colliery a dream start to the match, Dale Chapman and Joe Butler were the scorers, Linby holding the lead until the final whistle.

Real United were among the goals at the Inspire Stadium, beating Blidworth Welfare 5-2. Goalscorers here were Jamie Smith (2), Grant Ryan, Luke Tozer and Josh Lowe for Real, Blidworth replying through Liam Theakstone and Liam Green.

Swanwick Pentrich Road edged their clash with Hucknall Rolls by two goals to one, Shane Buckerfield and Guy Wilding with the goals, Chay Betteridge replying for Rolls.

Two of the bottom three met at Coronation Park, Eastwood Community continuing to make progress by beating Southwell City 4-1.

Eastwood’s star man was Jack Havron, who scored a hat-trick, Jerome O’Connor also on the scoresheet, with Phil Peters getting the Southwell goal.
