5. RAICH CARTER
Former Derbyshire CCC player Raich Carter was appointed Mansfield Town manager in February 1960. He couldn't save them from relegation to Division Four in his first season. A younger, rebuilt side finished 20th and 15th in the next two seasons. On 11th January 1963 he left to become manager of Division Two Middlesbrough. Photo: JPI
6. ANDY CARR
Defender Andy Carr was at First Division Middlesbrough between 1930 and 19354 before joining Stags in a blaze of publicity but only managed a dozen first team starts in a single disappointing season before moving on to Crewe on a free transfer. Photo: Supplied
7. CHARLIE BELL
Born in Middlesbrough, forward Charlie Bell was an apprentice at his hometown club, signing for them as a senior player in 1977. However, after only 10 League appearances in four years, he signed for Mansfield Town. He left Stags after two seasons and 84 outings with 12 goals, dropping into non-league football with Scarborough and becoming a policeman in Nottingham in April 1984. Photo: Supplied
8. JACK CLOUGH
Goalkeeper Jack Clough came to Mansfield in 1932 with vast experience from Middlesbrough (124 league games) and Bradford PA (208) but asked to leave after one season after feeling unsettled. He successfully appealed to the FA to get his fee reduced and went to Brentford. But in 1937 he returned to Stags as assistant trainer and was full trainer from 1939 until 1949. Photo: Supplied
