Murray has already brought in five eye-catching names and believes supporters will be delighted by the last two pieces of his initial jigsaw.

The delay in showing them off to the media is due to both currently being away on holiday with the final paperwork to be complete on one, Murray having to complete the negotiations with him in the small hours of this morning with an eight-hour time difference.

Murray smiled: “I’ve done one, but I can’t unveil it yet because he’s still away on holiday. And we are 99 per cent on the other one.

“We are over the moon with the ones we’ve got already in the building and the two we’ve done now make us stronger again. I think the fans will be happy with them and as a staff and as a football club we are chuffed to bits with them.

“They will add to us and give us a little bit of that winning know-how again and that little bit of experience. We are bringing a high calibre of player to the club again.

“Realistically I think that will be us done then and we are going to go with a small squad again, but one with lots of options all over the pitch in terms of what we can do.

“We do want to try to promote a couple of our kids if we can, but like I said a few weeks ago, they’ve got to be ready. We are happy with what we’ve got.”

On the second of the deals, Murray added: “It was all agreed this morning, though he is away. If I am being totally honest I completed it at 4am this morning and I am a little bit tired.

“But, because he is away, we still need to get it tied up, so that will be done until the later part of this week. It may be the weekend, if not it will be Monday.”

Murray has so far brought in striker Danny Rose, wingers CJ Hamilton and Ashley Hemmings, and defenders Rhys Bennett and George Taft.

The two final signings should then be in the building by Monday when the players return for pre-season training.
