Centre-forward Adam Loydall unleashed one of the best performances of the weekend in youth football when hitting five goals for HUCKNALL SPORTS UNDER-15S BLACK.
Loydall spearheaded an action-packed 9-4 victory for unbeaten First Division title-chasers Sports at home to Cotgrave Colts in the Notts Youth League’s Sunday Cup.
Cotgrave, who sit third in the division below, battled hard. But Sports were electric in front of goal, with Josh Pearson (2), James Leach and Sam Jackson also on the scoresheet.
In the same competition, LINBY RANGERS UNDER-15S also progressed to the next round, but HUCKNALL HARRIER UNDER-15S suffered a narrow defeat.
Linby, who are riding high at the top of the Second Division, beat Sherwood Yellow 4-2 thanks to goals from Ryan Butler, Mitchell Jackson, Jake Smith and Ryan Wood.
Harrier, who play in Division Three, faced a stiff ask at Bingham Town Red, of Division Two, but acquitted themselves well before going down 2-1, despite a goal from Danni Jones and a man-of-the-match display by William Lomas.
One of Harrier’s divisional rivals, HUCKNALL WARRIORS UNDER-15S RED, remain rooted to the foot of the table after a 14-0 trouncing at the hands of Bramcote.
