Louis van Gaal believes his Manchester United team needs a winger before they can win the Premier League title - and wants to buy one in January. (Manchester Evening News).

David Moyes will be sacked by Real Sociedad within the next 24 hours, according to Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague. Moyes, who took over the club almost exactly a year ago, has won just two of his 11 La Liga games in charge this season and the team are 16th in the division. Balague believes the decision was taken after the away defeat to Las Palmas on Friday and made because of a lack of improvement after 12 months under the former Everton and Manchester United boss (Sky Sports).

Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent expects him to finish his career at Real Madrid, seemingly ruling out a return to Manchester United. It had been reported by a number of national newspapers that Ronaldo’s former club are keen to re-sign the 30-year-old and could make an approach next summer (Sky Sports).
