According to the Leeds United history website, Bullions became player-manager with Alfreton in September 1960, played 58 games before retiring, and went on to complete nine years in the role of manager.

He remains the club’s longest serving manager to date, and ironically, shares the same name as the second longest-serving manager of the club, current boss Nicky Law.

Alfreton won the Derbyshire Senior Cup in his first season in charge, 1960/61, beating Matlock Town 2-1 at the Baseball Ground in Derby.

Born in Donnyloanhead, Scotland, Bullions began his career at Chesterfield in 1942.

He moved to Derby County in 1944 and made 29 appearances for them before the Rams before moving to Leeds United in 1947.

He was also the youngest player in the Derby County side which beat Charlton Athletic 4-1 in the 1946 FA Cup Final at Wembley.

As well as playing for Alfreton, Jim also turned out for Shrewsbury Town, Worksop Town, Gresley Rovers, Sutton Town and Matlock Town.
