Freezing temperatures saw Mansfield Town’s friendly at Vanarama North side Solihull Moors abandoned in the second half last night with the score at 1-1.

With temperatures plummeting the planned 7.45pm kick-off was brought forward to 7pm and Matty Blair gave a very youthful Stags side the lead before the home side hit back after the break through James Armson.

However, the weather proved the winner as the game was prematurely ended on the hour for players’ safety.

Chris Beardsley, Jamie McGuire, Joe Fitzpatrick and Blair were the four senior players who benefited from the shortened run-out.
