This was achieved despite the visitors taking an eighth minute lead through Chris Frost who lifted the ball over the onrushing Ryan Hopkins from just outside the area.

Glapwell stormed back, though, and levelled on 15 minutes when Geoff Gouveia’s persistance was rewarded when he closed down the goalkeeper’s clearance and tapped the ball into the empty goal.

They were now playing some neat one-touch football and went in front for the first time when Andrei Pykett crossed from the left to Ross Murcott whose header was far too good for Charlie Holden in the visitors’ goal.

Just minutes later, Glapwell extended their lead when Ash Barber played in Brad Dowdall.

Things then got even better for Glapwell when good work down the right by Jake Wharton and Craig Humphreys resulted in the latter’s cross being met by Gouveia who fired into the top corner.

Easington had chances at the start of the second period but it was Glapwell that increased their lead on 65 minutes when Dean Isaacs chipped the ball over Holden.

The visitors had half chances towards the end but Ryan Hopkins stood firm with several good saves but a good victory for Glapwell who have now secured a top 10 finish with one more game to play (at home to Thorne Colliery on Thursday evening, 6.30pm).
