Although a 1-1 draw away to high-flying Swanwick Pentrich Road was a decent point for Hucknall Rolls Leisure last weekend, manager Jez Corthorn said a second successive draw has turned up the pressure on his side for Saturday’s home clash with in-form Belper Town.
At Swanwick’s Highfield Road, Shane Buckerfield’s goal for the third-placed Swans was countered by a Greg Conn penalty
“In hindsight it wasn’t a bad point as they are really good at home and they only lost once there all last season. I was just disappointed with how we started the game,” said Corthorn
“It would have been a very good point if we had won our last two, but now the pressure is on to win this weekend if we want to stay in contention and not slip further behind.
“That’s two games on the trot we’ve conceded early goals too.”
On this weekend, he added: “Belper are a very good side and knocked us out of both cups in the quarter-finals last year.
“We will just have to see what sort of squad we can put together. We will have a couple missing with work commitments and injuries but hopefully we will have a few back too.
“We’ve had a couple of disappointing results and we were poor against Blidworth at home and Sherwood away. Apart from that we’ve done all right with new players who are taking time to gel together.”
