A young and fairly inexperienced Half Moon were no match for a treble-chasing Nuthall who emerged with a crushing 9-0 win side.
Nuthall have had a couple of really good seasons leading up to this one, but this seems to be the one where everything is coming together for them.
They have a strong and settled squad, are second in the league with games in hand on the top team and are in one Cup Final and the semi-final of the other Cup.
Half Moon did cause some trouble in the early states when Stuart Lewis in the Nuthall goal was called in to action.
But Nuthall took the lead after the first 15 minutes and this seemed to settle their early butterflies as they went on to score three more before the end of the first half.
Moon knew deep down that they now had nothing to lose, but also were very aware that they would have to put in a massive half.
And despite heroics at the back by keeper Taylor and central midfielder and Half Moon man-of-the -match ROB NEALE, Nuttall scored five more to take them deservedly to the top.
To add to their woes, Half Moon slipped to the bottom of the league when local rivals Hucknall Town Sunday beat Clumber to leapfrog them.
Half Moon will be looking to bounce back next Sunday when their opponents are another top of the table team in the shape of Trentside.
