The Christmas and New Year celebrations went with an extra-special bang for everyone connected with the HUCKNALL SPORTS UNDER-10S WHITE team.
For the boys celebrated promotion after finishing runners-up in the Saturday Third Division of the Young Elizabethan League.
A 1-1 draw against fellow high-fliers Wollaton in their last match of the winter 2013 campaign was enough to seal second place, just two points behind champions Gedling Southbank Red.
And it means that in the 18 months they have been together, Sports have now taken two runners-up prizes and one league championship.
They would have been champs again had they beaten Wollaton. And all looked good when Jack Harrison gave them the lead after good work by Jayden Goodman.
But more chances were missed before a defensive mix-up ten minutes from the end handed the visitors an equaliser, which was scored by Mikhail Smyth.
