Hosiery Mills win to top MAA Premier

Mansfield Hosiery Mills top the Midland Amateur Alliance Premier Division table as a result of a 2-0 victory over Wollaton III, thanks to goals from Sam Rawson and Mark Smallwood.

Radcliffe Olympic III ran away with all three points thanks to a 5-2 Premier Division victory at the expense of Rainworth Rangers, who were just 2-1 adrift at half time.

However, goals from Graham Beavis and Matt Hope proved insufficient for Rangers to get back into the game.

Meanwhile a second half strike from Tom Blaney was all that Old Elizabethans required to ensure victory at the expense of Trent Vineyard.

Leaders FC Trinity pipped Ashfield FC by the odd goal in three with Ricky Platt netting the Ashfield consolation goal in the MAA Division One.

Ravenshead slipped to a 3-2 defeat by Old Elizabethans II, whose goals came from Tom King, Jordan Smith and Alan Barker with Tyler Lambert and Adam Martin replying for Ravenshead. Doubles from Josh Parfitt and Brad Drew saw New Houghton Villa through to a 4-2 defeat of Sutton Travellers.

Martin Ward’s five goals equalled the single efforts from Colin Woodward, Tony Sheehan, Adam Murphy, Tom Stevenson and Joe Brookes in Watnall Athletic’s 10-0 MAA Division Two demolition of Ashfield FC II.

A much tighter scoreline of 2-1 earned victory for Sunnydale at the expense of MAFC, whose goal came from Adam Meadows.

A similar scenario provided Sherwood Colliery A with all three points at the expense of Old Bemrosians, who went down 2-1 when James Lawson’s strike for Bems was answered by Jake Crunkhorn and Chris Dobb for Colliery.

Goals from both Craig and Ryan Armstrong, together with a Jordan Towle effort, proved insufficient to prevent Old Elizabethans III going down 6-3 to Southwell St Mary’s.
