Mansfield Town boss Adam Murray is hopeful of bringing in a hot goalscoring prospect in on loan from a Premier League side by Friday.
With Stags now 11th, five points off the play-offs with 10 games to go, Murray moved swiftly today to bring in giant Chesterfield striker Mani Dieseruvwe on loan.
But he also said he was hoping to add a bright young Premier league prospect who is expected to be involved in his side’s first team next season.
“We want goals and options. Our squad have been brilliant but they need some help now,” said Murray.

“It’s hard to get a proven goalscorer at this time of season. So we will have to go and get a young one.
“We have our eye on two, who would be coming from Premiership clubs.
“They’ve scored a lot of goals this season for their clubs, so they are two that are highly thought of at their clubs and they are looking to get them into their first teams next year.
“I have asked a couple of favours of people I know and I am hoping they will come off in next 24-48 hours so they will be in for Friday.”
Success should see Murray with plenty of new options for Saturday’s tough visit of Portsmouth as Stags aim to end a run of three successive 1-0 defeats.
