Jubilant HUCKNALL SPORTS U-15S BLACK took a giant stride towards the Notts Youth League’s Sunday First Division title by grabbing a precious win against one of their main rivals, Blidworth Welfare Black.
Sports triumphed 3-2, after being held 1-1 at the interval, and now top the table by two points with three matches to play, including one, on the last day of the season, at home to second-placed Carlton Town Blue on Sunday 10th May
Their goals were scored by Kellen Gretton, James Leach and Adam Loydall, with man-of-the-match Keaton Ward and substitute Lewis Bonham replying for the home side.
A COMFORTABLE 3-1 victory away to Priory Celtic Green kept ROLLS-ROYCE LEISURE U18S in third place in the Sunday Third Division of the Notts Youth League. The goals were shared by Nathan Ansbury, Connor Clifford and Kallum O’Dowd.
SHELLSHOCKED LINBY RANGERS U15S suffered only their second defeat of the season in Sunday Division Two of the Notts Youth League.
Linby went into their penultimate match of the season with a healthy eight-point lead at the top of the table. But after crashing 4-1 away to fourth-placed Clifton All Whites Red, they could now be caught for the title.
A disastrous first-half performance was to blame as the locals fell 3-0 down before pulling a goal back through Liam Hopson. The only other players to shine on the day were Lewis Harvey and Trevell Lindo.
Second-placed Sherwood Yellow are now five points behind with three games in hand, so Linby, whose last fixture is at Ruddington Village Colts this weekend, are relying on slip-ups.
CONVINCING HUCKNALL TOWN HARRIER U15S were in terrific form as they raced to a 4-1 win at home to Attenborough Colts Black in the Sunday Third Division of the Notts Youth League. Ben Ainsworth, Tyler Hallam, Cameron Murdock and substitute Adam Spencer were all on the scoresheet, while Oliver McCarthy picked up the man-of-the-match award.
In the same division, HUCKNALL WARRIORS RED U15S fell to a 7-1 loss at Pelican Colts.
