He remains hopeful that the Yellows will be able to face Graham St Prims on December 5th in the East Midlands Counties League.

And he admits Town are feeling the frustration of the enforced lockdown break.

“The players are just keeping fit amongst themselves, but we all just want to get going again, but it is what it is,” said Graves.

“It’s all very quiet at the moment and we're keeping our fingers crossed we can start again on December 5th.

“I’ve heard some leagues are starting on the 5th and some on the 12th, but it all depends on what happens on December 2nd.

“We will be as ready as we can and we will be prepared for 5th December if we have a game.

"If we are allowed we will have a game on the Wednesday between the first team and the reserves as part of our preparations.

"We will be as ready as we can be and that's all we can do.”

Graves also paid tribute to long-time supporter Reg Miles who passed away this week.

Reg, who was in his nineties, was a familiar face at the club and regularly attended matches up to this season.

Said Graves: “Reg was a big supporter of the club and myself, especially when we first started. He was a character and a gentleman.

“He was a familiar face to everyone. He would let us know if we had done well or if we hadn't done so well.

“After every game he would be there in the clubhouse when most people had gone.

“He would be sitting there with his drink ready to tell you what you'd done right and wrong.

“He was very supportive when we were getting back on our feet.

"I remember him telling me how great a striker was that we signed. In the end, the player didn’t score a goal and when he left Reg was asking why I had even signed him.

"He was great to have around and it is a sad loss for the club.

“When we get back we will do something in his memory and a club representative will be at the funeral.”
