Manager Andy Graves said: “The result was a good response, but I wasn’t particularly happy with our first half performance with just the one goal.

“You have to break a side down and we did that second half and were comfortable eventually.

Adam Nelson, Jack Smith, Shane Newton, Joe Ashurst, Dave Leak and Matt Brian netted the goals in a game that had to be rearranged to Hucknall after home side Calverton had problems with their floodlights and then had to pass a pitch inspection after heavy rain.

But it is back to the real challenge of Central Midlands League South on Saturday when Blidworth Welfare are the visitors.

“We have Blidworth on Saturday and they have a new manager in and a few results have gone their way since we played them in the cup the other week,” said Graves.

“They have also now got Mike Randall, my ex-goalkeeper, who signed for them after the game the other week. So he will have a point to prove as well.

“We have four or five players missing so I will have to juggle the squad.”

Hucknall are looking for opposition for a proposed friendly at Watnall Road on Wednesday, 12th December.
