Junior Daniel returns to Mansfield Town on loan from Port Vale

Mansfield Town this morning announced the return of versatile winger Colin Daniel on loan from Port Vale until the end of the season.

The left-footed former Macclesfield Town man, whose nickname is ‘Junior’, is a familiar face to Stags’ fans, following a two year spell at One Call Stadium between 2012 and 2014, in which he netted eight goals in 75 appearances.

The 28-year-old helped the club to promotion from the Conference National, scoring five goals in the 2012-13 campaign.

With 13 games remaining this season, Daniel will be planning to establish himself in Adam Murray’s starting 11, as the Stags aim to defy all the odds by obtaining a top seven position in Sky Bet League Two.

Daniel has appeared 25 times for 11th-placed League One side Port Vale this season.

Speaking to www.mansfieldtown.net, Daniel said: “It’s good to see some old faces and some new ones also.

“Everyone has welcomed me back with open arms and I’m really pleased to be back. There seems to be a real buzz around the place
“I played with the manager (Adam Murray) during my last spell here.

“He’s a good guy and I know he wants to do well. I want to do well for him and the team.”
