Karanka delighted as Nottingham Forest end Spanish tour with 3-0 win over Malaga

Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka was delighted with the success of his side's pre-season trip to Spain.

Goals from Gil Dias, Ben Osborn and Hillal Soudani saw them end the week in Marbella with a 3-0 win over Malaga.

Karanka told the club’s official website: “One week, again we finished really well. We finished the first week at St George’s Park really well, we finished last week in Nottingham really well and this week has been almost perfect. I like, and we should always, improve.

“It is sometimes difficult because the weather and some of the game, the last day in the stage and it is true, it took us to get into the game more or less 10-15 minutes, but after those 15 minutes we were much better.

“When they changed the team and they were much fresher than us, we were better than them. We scored three goals, we kept the clean sheet, the attitude was good, no injuries so it was good.

“Another important thing for me is the atmosphere we have here this week,” he added. “On the pitch, the players have been almost perfect and outside the pitch, in the hotel, another thing that surprised me a lot and is very good.”
