The Football League confirmed they have yet to draw up a schedule for the 72 League clubs, despite the ‘leaked’ document purporting to have the list completed.

They announced on Twitter: “We can confirm the ‘fixture list’ published online at the weekend is a hoax.

“At this stage we are still about 10 days away from being able to review a first draft of the 2016/17 fixture list.

“It’s worth noting a number of the fixtures in the hoax list would not be permitted on those dates for operational and policing reasons.”

The fake list had Stags away at Colchester United on the opening day and ending the campaign with a home game against Accrington Stanley.

The Football League season begins over the weekend of August 6th.

It will finish on May 6th, 2017 with the League Two play-off final on May 27.
