Jubilant ROLLS-ROYCE LEISURE UNDER-15S became the first team this season to beat top-of-the-table Sandiacre Town in the Saturday First Division of the NOTTS YOUTH LEAGUE.

Rolls, who sit just below Sandiacre in the table, triumphed 1-0 thanks to a first-half goal by Adam Loydall. The man-of-the-match accolade went to Jack Marshall.

HIGH-flying ROLLS-ROYCE LEISURE UNDER-16S were brought down to earth with a bump when they met Mansfield Town in the quarter-finals of the Notts FA County Youth Shield (Saturday). For they not only suffered just their second defeat of the season, they were also thrashed 7-0.

It had been better news in midweek when Rolls triumphed 5-3 away to fellow title-chasers Basford United. In a thrilling encounter, striker Kieran Orange made all the difference with a quality hat-trick. Kieren Beales and Corey Scothern were also on target.

TABLETOPPING HUCKNALL TOWN UNDER-16S were given one of their toughest tests so far this season before scrambling through to the final of the Notts FA County Youth Shield (Sunday) via a penalty shootout.

Town, who have won nine of their ten league matches, were held to a 1-1 draw after extra-time by their chief challengers for the title, Kimberley Miners Welfare. However, they won the shootout 4-2.

TWO goals from Jack Endsor were not enough to save BULWELL ATHLETIC UNDER-16S RED from a 6-3 defeat at home to Netherfield Boys Blue in the Sunday Third Division. Lewis Jackson-Thomas was also on the scoresheet, while Brandon Stapley collected the man-of-the-match award, but Athletic trailed 5-1 by the interval.

IT was too close for comfort as LINBY RANGERS UNDER-15S stretched their 100% record to 11 matches at the top of the Saturday Fourth Division. Linby pipped third-placed Attenborough Colts Yellow 2-1 thanks to goals from Oliver Bradbury and Lewis Harvey.

Meanwhile LINBY RANGERS UNDER-15S’ Sunday team surged nine points clear at the top of the Second Division with a 4-1 victory at home to Ravenshead Reds. The goals were shared by Oliver Bradbury (2) and Ryan Wood (2).
