Mansfield graduate aims for bright sporting future

For many students graduating from university is the crowning glory of their years spent in education.

But Mansfield’s Michael Hewitt hopes it is just the beginning a journey that promises even more success after he graduated from Lincoln University with a master’s degree (an M.A) in Sports Science, a qualification which has already earned him a top job as a performance analyst at Chesterfield FC.

Michael’s willingness to work outside of his comfort zone during his studies set him apart from the other students.

As well as building player profiles for the Spireites, he spent six weeks working on a fitness regime with a national taekwondo champion.

The local Lincolnshire community have also benefited from his scientific acumen, too.

Michael still chips in with the regional sports groups he made time for during his course, and continues to support individuals with mental health concerns.

With his focus still firmly on the future, Michael cannot speak highly enough of the advantages his diploma has given him.

“My M.A in Sports Science is a very important factor in finding employment within bio-mechanics and physiology,” he said.

“It is a course that has given me all the vital preparation I need, I’ve even recommended it to a few of my friends and can’t wait for the future!”
