Stags have just been pipped 1-0 in three successive games and boss Adam Murray said: “This is the first time we’ve lost three games on the bounce all season, so we don’t know what this feels like.

“But the attitude from the boys this week has been spot on and they’ve come out firing.

“We want to finish as high as we can. We don’t want the season to fizzle out. We still believe we can achieve something.”

Murray added: “I honestly believe we will be up there.

“That’s a big statement by me, but I believe we still have a very good chance. We will finish off fighting and it’s going to be interesting.

“We are not used to it (the three defeats). It’s tough to take as we don’t think deserve to have lost those games. But we have and we must deal with it and learn from it.

“I spoke to the chairman this week and he is as positive as I am. We know what we are doing building-wise and where we are taking the club.”

Murray said he and the club would learn and benefit from mistakes made this season, however the current season ends up

“We have a real aim and process we want to achieve over the next few years,” said Murray.

“A big part of that is making sure we have learned from our mistakes this season so far. Will we make some more in the next 10 games? 100 per cent, so get ready.

“But I have already learned enough this season to make us better next season.

“I am chuffed to bits at the minute. As a football club we’ve probably made a couple of mistakes in not moving at the right times in the window.

“We didn’t want to disturb the balance but that’s a risk I think we might have to take.”
