MANSFIELD TOWN: Cox set to draft in loan ‘keeper after injuries to Marriott and Deakin
Mansfield Town manager Paul Cox is expected to make a swift move in the loan market after learning of injuries to goalkeepers Alan Marriott and Ian Deakin.
Speaking this evening to the club’s website www.mansfieldtown.net, the Cox said: “With Alan Marriott ruled out and Ian Deakin looking highly unlikely, we will look to bring in a new ‘keeper on an emergency loan before the weekend.”
Earlier today it was reported that Alan Marriott, who has been an almost ever-present for the club this term, dislocated his finger during a midweek training session.
Despite having featured in last night’s reserve team victory over Hartlepool United, Deakin, Stags’ second-choice shot-stopper, has also been struggling with a quad problem in recent weeks.
