Crewe go ahead on Saturday.

Here, sports editor John Lomas gives his marks out of 10 for the Stags players on the day.

Played well and tried his best to get attacks moving quickly with his throws and kicks. Had no chance with either goal.
A decent display spoiled by his slip when over-playing that handed Crewe's second goal to them on a platter. But he did force Stags' consolation goal over the line.
Largely solid throughout. He failed to block the shot for Crewe's first goal but his header set up Mansfield's reply.
Several good pieces of defending won applause from the home fans.
Had a steady first half at wing back but made way for Ajose at the break to bolster the strikeforce.
Worked hard but missed one of the home side' best chances when he slipped as he shot and fired over a crucial moment at 1-0 down.
Tried to hard to make something happen but little is coming off for the Forest youngster at the moment after such a bright start to his loan spell. Eventually subbed. Very frustrating.
Another tireless display as he tried all he could to spark his side. Was lucky to only see yellow for a clash with Paul Green as tempers overheated.
A frustrating afternoon for Hamilton up front who did set up a chance for Walker in the first half but was then moved to right and then left wing back after the break with no joy.
Stags' top scorer was snuffed out by the Crewe defence, though he did set up a great chance that Ajose failed to connect with. Arrived seconds too late to convert a low cross by Hamilton.
Put some dangerous corners over but it wasn't his afternoon in terms of cutting Crewe open from left wing back.
A half-time sub, Ajose somehow got under a low diving header a minute after coming on and missed the ball in front of goal. He also fired over on a good break down the middle.
Worked hard but could not find a killer pass or cross after replacing Grant on 62 minutes. Still not fully match sharp after injury yet.
Thrown on for the last 14 minutes for Benning, Khan was immediately a busy figure. He will be relieved a late offside flag rendered his missed unmarked header irrelevant near the end.
