Mansfield Town players spread Christmas cheer to sick children

Christmas came early for sick children being cared for at King’s Mill Hospital when they were visited by Mansfield Town’s first team squad.

Young Stags’ fans were over the moon to come face-to-face with their heroes who set about signing, handing out gifts and posing for photographs with as many patients as possible.

The annual visit is an opportunity for the players to spread some joy to local children, and as manager Paul Cox said it was a day which means a lot to everybody involved.

“At this time of year, it’s nice to spread some Christmas cheer to those less fortunate than ourselves,” said the Stags boss.

“The lads have dug deep and have put their own money into a collection to buy presents for poorly children.

“It is testament to this group of players for what they have done,” he added.
