It was a busy year for the near neighbours with the sides sharing 2-2 draw’s in Division Three during the 1970/71 season.

They shared a 0-0 draw in the League Cup during the 1971/72 season, before Chesterfield won the reply at Field Mill 5-0.

Chesterfield then beat Mansfield 2-0 in Division Three later in the season.
