Stags staff take up ice bucket challenge

Mansfield Town chairman John Radford, along with manager Paul Cox, led staff at Mansfield Town Football Club to take on the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for charity.

Everybody at the club got involved in the craze which has swept across the nation over the last week in aid of ALS.

The chairman brought with him to the stadium promotion girls from One Call Insurance, who poured ice-cold buckets of water onto the Stags’ chief and manager Paul Cox, before being soaked themselves by members of the first-team squad.

Everyone from the ground maintenance man, Andy Johnson, to directors Tina and Paul Broughton, had the ice-cold water poured over them by other members of staff as they donated to the cause.

Mr Radford joined Paul Cox on the turf at the One Call Stadium as they were drenched by no fewer than NINE buckets of water.

Cox’s first team coaches also got involved in the fundraising as Micky Moore accepted his nomination for the challenge. Richard Cooper was then drenched by wife and Corporate Sales Manager, Laura Cooper, amongst others.

Orchestrator of the challenges, head of media and communications Mark Stevenson then had a taste of his own medicine as he was drenched by members of the maintenance team.
