Manageress Norma Hatfield insists she remains upbeat, despite another defeat for HALF MOON at the wrong end of the Notts Sunday Morning League, Premier Premier Division table.

A week’s break provided no respite for Moon, who went down 3-0 to Trentside for their eighth reverse in nine matches this season. However, Hatfield says spirits remain high at the club. She commented: “I could not be more proud of the way we have dug deep and perforfmed with positivity over the last few matches against some very stiff opposition. I am sure this attitude will continue when we return from the festivities in the New Year.”

Moon made their customary strong start, with brothers Kyle and Martin Lester going close and the defence taking everything Trentside could throw at them. However, when a rasping volley came back off the bar, the rebound was bundled home to give the home side a lead, and two more goals in the second half beat ‘keeper Jamie Taylor, who went up for a late corner at the other end and had a header cleared off the line!

Trentside’s scorers were Tristan Spencer, Rorie Francis and Hucknall Town star Leon Aikman.
