Nicky Law looks for Alfreton Town improvement

Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law will be looking for a significant response from his side as they travel to Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday afternoon for their latest Skrill Conference Premier clash.

The Reds were humbled 5-0 on their own turf last weekend by in-form and high-flying Luton Town, only their second defeat of the campaign at the Impact Arena. That defeat was followed up by a 1-0 loss to Heanor Town in the Derbyshire Senior Cup - a result which leaves Alfreton without a win or goal in four competitive fixtures.

The trip to Kidderminster is unfortunately not going prove any easier to handle than the Luton clash, with the home side having moved up to the third in the league table - although they were beaten at Woking in midweek.

Alfreton can at least take confidence from the corresponding fixture earlier on the season, in which they clinched a superb 3-1 victory. That success represented a first win in five for the Reds over Kidderminster.

The form book is also counting against Alfreton, given that the Reds have struggled on the road throughout this current campaign whilst Saturday’s opponents have only lost once on their own patch thus far.

Injuries also mean that Nicky Law is missing key players with Nick Fenton, Josh Law and Dan Bradley all missing the defeat against Luton although the latter returned for the cup game in midweek.

The Reds have been punching above their weight throughout the current campaign and they will know that to get a result at Aggborough they will again need to defy the odds.
