Notts County Ladies 6 Teversal Ladies 0

The last time these two teams met at the beginning of the season Notts County Ladies Development 1st team smashed nine past Teversal Ladies without reply. Teversal have clearly been improving and Notts County were expecting a tough encounter today at home on Coronation Park the home of Eastwood Town FC.

A good start from the home side as the camped in the visitors half and the first shot coming from Courtney Walters after a square ball across the goal only for her shot to hit the keeper.

On nine minutes Anna Horton received the ball in the middle of the park and ran the ball forward to set up a one on one with the Teversal keeper, Anna slotted the ball into the corner giving the keeper no chance 1-0.

County appeared to be in control when they had the ball in the back of the net thanks to Lauren Yeomans only for it to be deemed off-side; minutes later Courtney ran the ball in from a wide angle only for her shot to go the wrong side of the upright.

Teversal started to play at a high tempo and were beginning to get a foot hold on the game as they began to look dangerous and create a few chances.

County waived the storm and on 44 minutes Anna Horton once again ran the ball out of defence and found Lauren Yeomans with a long range forward pass who turned and found Courtney Walters in front of goal to tuck the ball under the advancing keeper 2-0.

County were not going to let Teversal back into this game as April Bingham five minutes into the second half secured the all-important third goal and the best goal of the day when she cut inside with the ball to hit a rising shot into the far top corner 3-0.

County were rampant as they were setting up chance after chance and on 65 minutes April ran the ball out of county’s half into Jasmin Bear who’s cross into the far post found Lauren with her shot rebounding off the upright for Courtney to tap in 4-0.

The Magpies fifth came when Robyn Henton’s defence splitting pass allowed Lauren to chase and get a foot to the ball before the advancing keeper to help it on its way into the back of the net 5-0.

The game was wrapped up after some breath-taking first time passing involving half of the team for Robyn to turn and lay off a pass for Courtney to smash it home 6-0.

A good solid performance and player of the match awarded to April Bingham for her tireless work and off course that wonderful goal.
