The Sydney-born defender has spend spent the previous four years playing for her home town club Sydney FC and joins Notts County in the Australian W-League’s off season.

Brogan and her Sydney team mates finished in second place in the 2013-14 W-League table, but lost out to Melbourne Victory, who featured current Notts players Katie Hoyle and Caitlin Friend, in the elimination round.

Despite this loss the 25 year-old has won the title with Sydney in 2009, when after finishing top of the table, they went on to defeat Canberra United in the semi final before a 3-2 victory over Brisbane Roar in the Grand Final to lift the trophy.

Danielle made her debut for Australia in 2009, her only senior cap to date, although the defender has featured for the Matildas at a number of youth levels.

Preferring to play at centre-back, Danielle joins Notts County half way through their campaign and as they sit in third place in the league and says she’s been following the season so far.

She said: “I’ve been keeping up with the league since it’s started and I’ve been following Notts County’s results. I know Anna (Green) and Caitlin (Friend) so I’ve been following their progress and I’ve heard good things.

“It’s good to be joining a team which have had some good results and I’m impressed with what I’ve seen.”

“I’m quite nervous, playing in England is something I’ve never done before, but it’s a great opportunity and it is exciting. I’ve followed the men’s game in England since I was a toddler and I’ve seen a fair bit of the English women’s game as well so I’m excited to get going.”

Danielle will join up with the squad next week in preparation for the resumption of the season on 29th June.
