County still missing a few key players due to injury had to call upon the club’s reserve team, with Ellie Marriott and Charley MaClaren doing themselves proud. The Magpies were never really troubled in the first period and it took only 11 minutes to find the back of the visitor’s goal.

A Jasmin Bear corner floated into the box was not cleared and Courtney Walters shot on the edge of the area was flicked on by fellow strike partner Lauren Yeomans wrong footing the keeper 1-0.

County were having good possession and pressing quickly not allowing Alfreton out of their half.

Another corner this time found the head of Anna Horton who headed it down destined for goal but cleared off the line. On 30 minutes County doubled their lead when a pass back was pounced on by the quick thinking of April Bingham who pushed the ball past the keeper 2-0.

Only two minutes later and County found number three when Robyn Henton’s throughball defence splitting pass allowed Courtney Walters to run onto and confidentally slotted the ball into the near top corner 3-0.

County were having wave after wave of attacks with April going close with a one-on-one with the keeper.

Alfreton just before the break hit on the counter with a ball over the top for their shot to be screwed wide.

The second period saw Alfreton come more into the game and creating a few chances, but Kelly Hackman in the County goal was on top form and pulled off a terrific save.

County were dealt a blow 10 minutes into the second half when defender Courtney Evans was stretched off after a nasty injury.

A bit of a re-shuffle and a change of formation didn’t do too much harm as, on 65 minutes, Lauren Yeomans twisted and turned her marker played a quick one two and having just the keeper to beat slotted the ball into the far bottom corner 4-0.

Player of the match was awarded to wide midfield player April Bingham.
