Defender White has been struggling with ankle ligament damage while striker Davies, who had a spell on loan at Wolves, also has an ankle problem.

Boss David Flitcroft said: “On Thursday and Friday Craig’s ankle just flared up. He’s rocked it a little bit so we’re looking into that.

“The medical team will get busy with that so we can get the right intel into what he’s done.”

Stags won their opening group game 2-1 at Lincoln City while Premier League Wolves saw their youngsters lose 4-2 on penalties after an opening group 0-0 draw away to Scunthorpe United.

After three games unchanged, Stags boss David Flitcroft is expected to tweak his starting line-up this evening.

This will be the first time the clubs have clashed since their FA Cup third round clash in 1995 when visiting Wolves won 3-2 after trailing 2-0 at the break.
