A missed penalty summed up another fruitless morning for Hucknall side HALF MOON in the Premier Premier Division of the Notts Sunday League.
Trailing 3-0 to high-riding Nuthall, Moon got the chance to salvage some pride when winger Kieran Clarke was brought down in the area. But the spot-kick was saved.
The outcome was a far cry from the same fixture last season, which the locals won 5-1. But manageress Norma Hatfield insisted there were still plenty of positives to take from the performance, not least the form of goalkeeper Jamie Taylor, who produced another man-of-the-match effort as Nuthall mounted wave after wave of attacks from an early stage.
Taylor was finally beaten in the dying minutes of the first half when Aaron Russell met a corner with a volley that whistled into the net for a wonder goal.
Moon created chances of their own in the second period, but a Ryan Johnson header and an own goal by defender Ben Smith sealed their fate.
