Despite a hat-trick for the reserves in midweek, it seems Peterborough loanee striker Ricky Miller is going to have to remain patient for his full Mansfield Town debut.
He has come on as a substitute seven times and boss David Flitcroft admitted: “He is pushing for a start.
“But I look at the opposition. You can look at it from the outside from a 2D point of view.
“But when you look at it in 3D and the young players he is playing against in the reserves, you have to remember League Two is a robust league and league of men.
“Ricky’s attitude since I have been here has been good and he is is in and around what we do for sure.
“I look at Kane Hemmings and Lee Angol’s partnership and the trouble they have caused the two best teams in the league so I am not looking far from that.
“But Ricky certainly adds competition to that.”
