The hunt is on to find the best football groundsmen in Nottinghamshire, and the rest of the country.
The annual Notts FA award recognises the contribution made by these unsung heroes of the grassroots game, who work in all weathers and at all hours to maintain pitches.
Last year’s Notts winner was Christopher Churches, who is senior groundsman for Ruddington Parish Council and looks after the Elms Park home of Notts Senior League side, Ruddington Village.
Now its time to nominate for this year’s competition. The deadline is Friday 23rd January, with the top three nominations going forward to a national FA contest, to be judged in August at St George’s Park in Burton.
