Shake-up at Clipstone ahead of new campaign

Most clubs see comings and goings at the end of a football season, and never more so than at Clipstone FC.

The Cobras saw not only the chairman Brett Marshall leave to become Staveley MW manager, but also the entire team management and all but two of the NCEL Division One championship squad.

With Dave Paling stepping up to become the club’s new chairman, he very quickly sought the services of two young, talented managers in the area.

James Colliver and Ryan France were put in place to build a squad to compete in NCEL Premier Division.

The pair held the management position at Staveley MW until near the end of last season, and have called upon the services of many of that squad.

Steve Hernandez, Pat Lindly, Michael Trench, Sam Finlaw and Jamahl Singh are just a few of the players to have signed up at the Worksop Van Hire Stadium.

James Ashmore has also joined the club from Matlock Town, bringing with him a vast amount of experience.

Pre-season saw the club draw with near neighbours AFC Mansfield, before another stalemate with a Chesterfield XI.
