Short quits as Sutton boss

Sutton Town AFC manager Dean Short has this week resigned due to family commitments.

In his three years at the club he has taken them from the Central Midlands League South as champions and into the East Midland Counties League, to the final of the Notts Senior Cup, to the last 32 of the FA Vase and into the final of the East Midland Counties League Cup.

A club spokesman said: “Shorty has always worn his heart on his sleeve both as a player and manager for Sutton and will go down in Sutton folklore.

“We would like to thank him for all his efforts both on and off the field and wish him all the very best for the future and hope he enjoys a well earned rest.
