This is a picture of the hopeful Mansfield Town fans at Northampton in 2004 for the first leg of a thrilling two-legged play-off semi-final with the Cobblers that saw Stags make the play-off final.

Having won this game 2-0, Stags looked set for a date at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium only to lose the home leg 3-1 and go to penalties which they ultimately won.

However, their spot kick luck ran out in the final as they lost to Huddersfield Town.

Since then it’s been quite a journey with relegation to and promotion back from the Conference.

Now Stags will be hoping their new-look squad can book them another play-offs by May, starting at Newport on Saturday.
