This picture shows the 1952/53 Stags side that finished 18th in Division Three North.

Among the players is Chris Marron, a popular player at Mansfield, who tpo scored with 16 goals that season.

He lived in Mansfield until he died in 1986.

In one game at Barrow he went in as emergency keeper after the regular number one broke a wrist and saved a penalty.

There was a fixture congestion later on in the campaign that saw Stags play 13 times in the space of four weeks.

The manager for the season was George Jobey but he was sacked before the beginning of the 1953/54 season.
