Mansfield Town can expect a large following for their latest pre-season friendly when they travel to Conference North neighbours Alfreton Town on Saturday (3pm).
Although Stags will not risk Jack Thomas or Mal Benning unless they are full recovered from knocks, the club said today: “The Stags are expected to utilise all of their first team squad at the Impact Arena.”
This at least suggests that fans travelling to Alfreton can expect to see the full first team squad in action against Nicky Law’s men, who draw 0-0 at home to Notts County in midweek while Stags were going down 1-0 to Premier League Hull City.
Murray then has another friendly planned at Mickleover Sports on Tuesday night to continue balancing how many pre-season minutes his players have under their belts.
Stags can expect to come up against two former Mansfield players in Nathan Arnold and Craig Westcarr on Saturday.
Alfreton’s starting team in midweek was: Spiess, McGowan, Allan, Kennedy, Jordan, Clayton, Arnold, Keane, Bradley, Monkhouse, Westcarr.
A pay on the day fixture, admission will be adults: £10, concessions: £5.
The drive to the Impact Arena, from junction 28 of the M1 take the A38 towards Derby for two miles, then take a left onto the B600 slip road. At the T-junction, turn right towards the town centre.
At the pedestrian crossing, go past North Street and turn left into Alma Street then continue onto Grange Street.
Parking is at Alfreton Grange Arts College (postcode DE55 7JA), which is the second left on Grange Street.
Entry to the Impact Arena is from Alma Street only.
