Wrens’ game called off after security alert

Rainworth Miners’ Welfare FC’s match against Loughborough Dynamo was today (Saturday 7th December) called off following a security alert.

Police were called out to the miners’ welfare building on Kirklington Road at around 12.30pm and officers conducted a thorough search of the property, a Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said.

The Evo-Stik League Division One South game was initially postponed but the spokesman said that the FA then decided to call off the game.

A full investigation into the security alert is being carried out by police.
