Hat-trick of gold medals for Edgewood Judo Club

Three gold medals and one silver have been won by the Hucknall-based Edgewood Judo Club in competitive tournaments.

In the Southfields Judo Club Invitation Championships at Leicester, Conor Hendrick won the boys’ under-30kg category, while Jack Elliott was first in the boys’ under-50kg class.

And at the Nottingham Red Belt Rumble, Thomas Palin struck gold in the boys’ under-43kg section, while Georgina Mackenzie took silver in the girls’ over-56kg category.

Meanwhile 21 Edgewood judokas gained new grades at a session conducted at Skegby Judo Club by coaches Steve Wilkins and Sam Watson. They were:

Ethan Gascoigne (12th mon), Jai Raison (10th mon), Alisha Norman (9th mon), Jack Elliott, Ellise Palmer and Emile Palmer (7th mon), William Greenaway and Jack Nash (6th mon), Cody Hoyland, Samuel Nash and Gracie Sadler (4th mon), Jemma Parrish and Bailey Stapleton (3rd mon), Georgina Mackenzie (2nd mon), and Luke Parrish, Amber Radford, Oliver Radford, Marcus Smoczyk, Lauren Standring, Alex Whitehead and Freya Whitehead (1st mon).
