Horse-racing ‘Tip Of The Day’

Here’s hoping for Sunday best with this latest selection from the stable of Scoop Racing (Richard Silverwood):

Sunday October 14

EXCELLENT RESULT

Goodwood 4.20 WIN

The Newmarket maiden, over 1m, in which Godolphin’s choicely-bred colt made his debut last month, was undoubtedly a hot one, won by one of the leading fancies for next year’s Derby. Yet the strong and lengthy son of Shamardal, out of a Sadler’s Wells mare, acquitted himself with huge credit, travelling strongly and only losing second place close home. He has to overcome softer ground, an extra furlong and a wide draw today but his pedigree suggests he ought to be able to cope and get off the mark. The dam won a Group Three race on this track and is a half-sister to a winner of the Great Voltigeur Stakes over 12f and also to the dam of Golan, who won the King George over the same trip ten years ago.
